Andrei is 3!

After my last couple of posts (and after getting some great support from dear friends, and family members encouraging me to post again - many thanks for that!) I feel like it's time to celebrate the living! It's also been difficult to see pictures of my dad every time I'd open the blog. So it really is time for a change.
Andrei turned 3 on June 5th, while we were in Romania visiting my dad. Under the stressful circumstances at the time (my dad had been admitted into hospital the day before), we could not have a big birthday party for Andrei, but we did want to have some sort of celebration. Luckily, birthday boy didn't care too much, as he is still too young to realize what's going on. :-) We had a small gathering with my best friend Dana and her daughter Anais, and the lovely "Coco" from next door, who absolutely adores my kids and is like a grandma to them. We had chocolate cake (not homemade this time) and ice cream, we sang Happy Birthday and "La multi ani" (the Romanian version of happy birthday) and Andrei opened presents.








I am very proud to say that the "Thomas" backpack I got for him was the biggest hit.


Andrei walked around with it on his back all that afternoon, would not let go of it on the flight back to England, or on the car ride from the airport home and even...


Yes! Even when going to bed! :-) It's been a few months since and he still does not leave the house without his precious backpack - "I need my rucksaT!!!" (said in absolute desperation) :). LOL, we love him to bits, he's so much fun!!!
